కృతి సనన్ నుండి ఖుషీ కపూర్: జాతి బృందాలతో స్నీకర్లను జతచేసే ప్రముఖులు కొత్త షాదీ ధోరణి – ఇండియా టుడే

Kriti Sanon made a head-turning appearance on Sunday while promoting her upcoming film Panipat. The actress slipped into an elegant green saree and added a quirky twist to it.

She paired the six-yards of elegance with a kurta. Yes, she ditched a quintessential blouse and draped her saree over a contrasting white and green kurta with bronze borders. Kurta saree is now a thing and we’re quite impressed.

Another key takeaway from Kriti’s statement sareee is how she styled it with the most comfy footwear ever. Taking the already-raging obsession of sneakers to a new level, Kriti teamed her saree with a pair of white kicks.

While we totally love how Kriti sported this unusual yet impressive look, it also reminds us of Lisa Ray at Sahitya Aaj Tak 2019.

Apart from sharing her inspirational story, the actor-cum-model who survived cancer, served major fashion goals at the event held last month in New Delhi.

She had worn a traditional solid black saree featuring a delicate red strip border, with a traditional red bindi. But what grabbed our attention the most were the white sneakers.

Isn’t this a great way to add a bit of edge to a traditional ensemble? It also keeps you at your comfortable best.

In our opinion, sneakers are not something you can’t pair with ethnics anymore. In fact, ethnic wear and sneakers have shared many fashion moments together.

Take Rhea Kapoor, for instance, she paired her heavy Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla lehenga with Nike trainers at Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s sangeet ceremony.

But it was not the first time she sported this fusion. Rhea had also made a similar statement at her cousin Mohit Marwah’s mehendi ceremony.

Her cousin Khushi Kapoor also embraced this trend at a wedding earlier this year. She wore a vivid yellow lehenga by designer Anushree Reddy and teamed it up with white kicks.

In fact, Sonam too has made many appearances sporting the trend. Her 2015 film Dolly Ki Doli’s poster showed her looking badass in a lehenga-jacket set, with her sneaker game on-point.

Even in the song Tareefaan, from the film Veere Di Wedding (2018), she was spotted donning white shoes with a hot pink ethnic ensemble.

Ditching the sky-high heels, Indian brides are also now teaming their lehengas with comfy-yet-sassy sneakers. What do you think of this trend?
